HAVE YOU EVER GONE BY A HIGH-RISE AND SEEN MEN WORKING AT HEIGHTS ERECTING THE STEEL FRAME AND WONDER WHO THOSE DAREDEVILS WERE? MAYBE THE FAMOUS PICTURE OF THE MEN ON THE BEAM?  THE ANSWER IS BELOW:

IRONWORKERS LOCAL 15 LOCATED IN HARTFORD THE CAPITAL CITY OF CONNECTICUT, WAS CHARTERED IN MARCH OF 1902 BY THE IRONWORKERS INTERNATIONAL. FOR OVER A 100 PLUS YEARS WE HAVE HELPED BUILT THE CAPITAL REGION AND THE 103 CITIES AND TOWNS IN THE SURROUNDING AREA.

LOCAL 15 IS A MIXED LOCAL, SO MANY OF OUR MEMBERS CAN WORK IN THE DIFFERENT FACETS OF OUR TRADE. THEY CAN WORK ON REINFORCING STEEL OR POST-TENSIONING, STRUCTUAL STEEL ERECTION AS WELL AS BRIDGE ERECTION AND REPAIR, CURTINWALL AND WINDOW SYSTEMS, ORNAMENTAL IRONWORK, WELDING, PRE-ENGINEERED BUILDINGS AND PRECAST CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION.TO NAME A FEW OF THE ASPECTS OF OUR TRADE!

THE PUBLIC HAS SEEN OUR MEMBERS AT WORK ON MANY PROJECTS AROUND THE AREA. THE NEW ADDITION TO THE UCONN MEDICAL CENTER IN FARMINGTON, THE HARTFORD PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND THE ONGOING WORK AT THE NEW MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL STADIUM IN HARTFORD. WE HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN MANY BRIDGE PROJECTS DURING THE YEARS, THE ERECTING OF THE NEW CHARTER OAK BRIDGE AND THE DISMANTLING OF THE OLD ONE, THE NEW BISSELL BRIDGE,WORK ON THE FOUNDERS AND DEXTER COFFIN TO NAME A FEW. THE BUILDING OF THE FOOTBALL STADIUM IN EAST HARTFORD, HOME OF THE UCONN HUSKIES. POWERPLANT WORK SUCH AS THE MILLSTONE NUCLEAR POWER-PLANT COMPLEX IN WATERFORD, THE NEW POWERPLANT IN PLAINFIELD. ALSO THE BUILDING OF 2 OF THE LARGEST CASINOS IN THE WORLD, FOXWOODS AND MOHEGAN SUN. AS WELL AS MANY OTHER PROJECTS SOME BIG, SOME SMALL, WE HAVE HELPED CHANGED THE SKYLINE IN MANY WAYS!
